June 20, 1940 – October 9, 2024
PEABODY – Mrs. Cynthia Nellie (Lear) Zagrobski, 84, of Peabody, loving wife of Joseph A. Zagrobski, Jr., died from a terminal illness on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Danvers, Cindy was the loving daughter of the late Edwin and Florence (Frasier) Lear. Raised and educated in Danvers, she attended Danvers Public Schools and was a graduate of the former Holten Richmond High School, class of 1958. Later in life, she continued her education at North Shore Community College, where she received her associate's degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
With her outgoing and fun personality, Cindy endeared herself to many, often making friends wherever she went. Professionally, she worked at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody, where she served as an activities assistant, often incorporating some of her occupational therapy skills with fellow clients. In her leisure time, she enjoyed arts and crafts, painting, gardening and photography. She loved her family and cherished the time she got to spend with her beloved grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her husband, Joseph, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, Cynthia is survived by her large family, including her grandchildren, in-laws, and many loving and caring nieces, nephews, and cousins. Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Natasha McLaren of Manchester; granddaughters, Abigail and Isabel Zagrobski of Manchester, and Gianna Gomez-Bollen of Beverly; dear nieces, Deborah Discipio and her partner, Robert Corey of Lynn and Sandra Merritt of NH; nephews, Christopher, Timothy, and Daniel Lear of Danvers; her husband's cousins, Walter Zagrobski and his wife, Vivian of Ipswich, and Richard Lockard and his wife, Dorothy of St. Louis, MO; and grand-nephew, Christopher Discipio of Lynn. Cynthia was predeceased by her beloved children, Nancy Zagrobski and Brian Zagrobski, as well as her siblings, Judith Salmon, Barbara Page, Donald Lear, and Edward Lear.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Cynthia's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Friday, October 18th at 11:30 A.M. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orne St., Salem. A visiting hour will be held an hour prior to her service from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
