PEABODY- Mr. Daniel J. Bouffard 85, of Pebaody, beloved husband of Madeline (Brissette) Bouffard, died, January 16th, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Alfred and Bertha (Gagne) Bouffard. He was raised and educated in Salem and attended the former St. Joseph School in Salem.
Mr. Bouffard had been employed at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Company for many years. More recently he had been employed as the custodian at St. Ann's Church in South Peabody until the time of his retirement.
A longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, Dan was a member of the Leather Workers Union and was a long time active member of the Torigian Senior Center in Peabody. He dedicated much of his time to his fellow seniors making the activities enjoyable for all especially Bingo. An avid bowler, a dedicated Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, Daniel was a fun loving individual, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his loving wife of 63 years, Dan is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellen Sahlin and her husband Rick of Raymond, N.H. and Susan Sliney and her husband Michael of Middleton, his son, Daniel Bouffard of Louden, N.H., his ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, his brother Ernest Bouffard of Parson, CA and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Noel Bouffard and brother of the late Alfred, Ted and Bob Bouffard.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in St. Agnes Church, Boston St., Middleton, Saturday, January 19th, 2013 at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private. Visiting hours in The O'Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem, Friday from 3 to 6 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Dan's memory to the Hospice of the North Shore and Greater Boston, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to the Friends of thee Peabody Council on Aging, 79 Central St., Peabody, MA 01960.
