IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel P.
Knowles
January 19, 1963 – November 29, 2023
WOBURN - Mr. Daniel P. Knowles, 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Dorchester, the beloved son of Philip and Marilyn (Carmichael) Knowles. Daniel graduated from Masconomet Regional High School and went on to further his education at the University of Southern New Hampshire.
Daniel had a few different careers in his life whether it was in his youth as a member of a pit crew at Lee Motor Speedway, in the paper industry at Lindenmeyer Munroe for a lengthy period of time, and most recently and closest to his heart as the office manager for 20 years at his family's paving business, BitCon Corporation. It was here where Daniel's personality and caring nature truly helped the business in many ways.
Daniel had many interests over the years. He was a sports fanatic. Whether it was taking in a game, traveling to Florida for spring training baseball, watching the local teams, or just talking about what was going on he had a true passion for the Boston sports scene over the years. He was a true history buff especially about the Civil War. He spent much time traveling to the various historic areas not only in Massachusetts, but also in Pennsylvania & Virginia. Dan's travels then took him to the Connecticut area. He was drawn to the Stratford area where he had many great experiences in his youth with his grandparents. As nephews and nieces came into his life some of his travels took him to Disney World to spend time enjoying watching them. Disney World was a sentimental place from his youth and he loved sharing experiences there with his family. In more recent times, Dan stayed closer to home with his explorations and Gloucester became his main destination. Gloucester truly held a special place in his heart.
Family was the foundation of Daniel's life. No matter what the occasion whether it was a holiday get-together or a simple Sunday dinner spending time with his family is what he loved the most. You would always see him with a smile on his face as he shared time with his family. A loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his parents, Philip and Marilyn Knowles, his siblings, Scott Knowles and his wife, Beccy of Topsfield, Donald Knowles and his wife, Andrea of Winchester, and Christopher Knowles and his wife, Kristen of Ayer, along with his nephews, Callum, Landon, and Hudson, and his nieces, Amanda & Vanessa. Daniel is also survived by his aunt, Donna & uncle, George Smith of Wilmington, MA and aunt, Virginia & uncle, David Carper of Springfield, VA. He also leaves many cousins.
