ROWLEY- Mr. David Madden 78, of Rowley, died February 10th, 2015 at the Portsmouth Medical Center in Portsmouth New Hampshire. Born in Middleton, he was the son of the late Edward and Barbara Louise (Woodward) Madden. He was raised and educated in Middleton and was a graduate of the former Holten High School in Danvers. An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps in which he was very proud of. David continued his education attending Northeastern University, UMass Lowell, the University of New Hampshire, Merrimack College, the University of Maryland and Essex Institute. He was a highly educated professional in the field of public health, surveying and civil engineering. David worked in the Civil Engineering and Land Surveying field and was the founder and proprietor of Madden Engineering for many years. He served as the West Newbury Health agent for many years and after his retirement worked as a consultant to over 15 cities and towns on various projects over the years. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who truly enjoyed his profession and always gave 110%. He never considered engineering and surveying as "work" and his reputation for reliability, fair, honest and precise professionalism was his hallmark. He enjoyed giving his all every day to his clients. He was a generous and giving man who will be missed. David is survived by his step-sons Douglas Yetman of Rowley, Phillip Yetman and his wife Cynthia of Amesbury, his cherished granddaughter Catie Dowling of Amesbury, his brother Peter Madden and his wife Nancy of Middleton, his nephew and nieces Peter Madden, Susan Arslanian, Patti Madden and his beloved grandnephew Andrew Besse of Middleton.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held in the Byfield Parish Church, 132 Jackman St., Georgetown, Saturday, Feb. 14th at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Flint Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday, Feb. 13th from 4 to 8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in David's memory to Our Neighbors Table, 145 Main St., Amesbury, MA 01913.
