Blessed with an entrepreneur spirit and wry sense of humor, David started several successful companies throughout his career. He began his career in medical collections and soon realized he could do it better on his own and began the Pre-legal Bureau taking on collections from several area hospitals.  He also started Naumkeag Leasing, then opened Hawthorne Nursing, a temp agency for nurses and CNA's. He was successful in his many endeavors, was well respected and made many lifelong friends along the way.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Papa David liked to be surrounded by his family and friends.  His passions included camping, hunting, fishing, golf and bowling. He enjoyed annual fishing trips to Lake George NY, and hunting trips to the Shybee camp in Cherryfield, ME. He was a lifelong athlete competing in sports in high school and loved to play golf. He was the Assistant Golf Coach for Pingree School for several years and loved playing golf with his beloved Mary. They also bowled in the Guys and Dolls Bowling league for many years. He was a former member of Salem County Club and a member of Old Salem Greens. David enjoyed the camaraderie that sports provided and relished sharing that with his family and friends. He will be fondly remembered for his unique sense of humor, love for his family and deeply missed by them and all the other hearts he touched along the way.
