IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Delphine Juliet
(Lien) Bonnette
April 2, 1930 – April 12, 2025
WENHAM – Mrs. Delphine Juliet (Lien) Bonnette, 95, of Wenham, wife of 62 years to the late Roland Bonnette, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, surrounded by her loving daughters.
Born in Granite Falls, Minnesota, Delphine was the daughter of the late Henry Knute Lien and Julia (Oien) Lien. She spent her younger years raised and educated in St. Paul Minnesota.
Early in Delphine's professional career, she was a secretary at Culligan Water, but spent most of her time as a homemaker, or as her daughter's would describe, a domestic engineer. She devoted her life working hard to support and care for her large family. She enjoyed watching all of them in their various and many sporting events. Delphine volunteered many years at Beverly Hospital in the Gift Shop and at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Topsfield.
Delphine was an avid bridge player and enjoyed reading. She loved bird watching, so much so, she wrote a book called "My Summer with Mother Turkey and Her Poults." She took up tennis later in life, a fierce doubles competitor at Bass River. She was fond of sports off the court as well, watching the Red Sox and Patriots whenever given the chance. More than anything, Delphine enjoyed many years with her family at "camp," their lake house in Maine. Delphine had a quiet, unassuming demeanor; she will be deeply missed.
Delphine is survived by her daughters, Beth Desrochers and her husband, George of Georgetown, Brenda Bonnette of Plaistow, NH and Eileen Schneider and her husband, Bill of Georgetown, her daughter-in-law, Kristin Bonnette of Wenham, grandchildren, Adam Bonnette, Laura Desrochers Viens, Alexi Neves, Evan Desrochers, Elle and Lyla Schneider; along with 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Roland, Delphine was predeceased by her sons, David and Gary Bonnette, both of Wenham and her granddaughter, Hannah Desrochers of Jamaica Plain.
