IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dianne Ellen
(Mcknight) Cook
October 27, 1946 – November 6, 2024
SALEM – Mrs. Dianne E. (McKnight) Cook, 78 of Salem, loving wife of the late William (Bill) M. Cook, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Surviving Dianne is her son, Aaron Cook and his wife, Bridget of Salem and their three children, Aaron (AJ), Liliana (Lily) and Benjamin (Ben). She is also survived by her son William (Chip) M. Cook II, his wife Cheryl of Fitchburg and her grandson Jacob Krawczyk. In addition to her loving husband William M. Cook, Dianne was predeceased by her daughter, Wendy Ellen Krawczyk of Salem, MA.
Born and raised in Beverly, Dianne attended Beverly public schools. During high school, Dianne worked at Beverly Hospital in the food department and was inspired by the way the nurses were able to help their patients. She was driven to become a nurse and was accepted to the Beverly School of Nursing where she graduated from their three-year program. The nursing program allowed Dianne to work in different areas of care, including psychiatric and pediatric units. After graduating nursing school, Dianne went on to work for a variety of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. She was a lifelong nurse and caregiver who always found a way to make everyone she cared for feel special.
Dianne was an avid gardener and would often be outside in the garden listening to the birds. She loved to travel, listen to music and go to the beach. She looked forward to her time spent going to lunch or on long drives with her friends. Growing up, she had fond memories of vacationing each summer on Lake Winnipesaukee with her parents. After having kids of their own, Dianne and Bill spent most of their vacation time camping all around New Hampshire. The camping tradition continued as Dianne enjoyed going on camping trips with her son Aaron and his family.
Dianne was known for being hard working, caring and generous. She would often go out of her way to get gifts for people to make them happy. She was the type of person that put others needs ahead of her own to make them feel special. She loved being around her family and friends and most of all, her grandchildren. Dianne was a loving "Mimi" that dedicated her time focusing on her grandchildren to create memories they will never forget. She enjoyed taking them to splash parks and doing fun activities with them. She made holidays extra special by baking different cookies and buying lots of presents for Christmas, because she loved watching her grandchildren open them. She was a die-hard Boston Bruins and Patriots fan that never missed a game, even when the teams were not doing well.
Dianne impacted so many people throughout her life from her friends, family, patients in her care and nurses she worked with. She was so loved by all of those she knew and will be dearly missed.
