Obituary

DARTMOUTH, MA - Donna Ingalls of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, and Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully on November 9th 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Ted Ingalls (d. 2024), her partner in life and laughter for 47 years.

Born in Freeport, New York, Donna grew up in Pound Ridge and graduated from Fox Lane High School. She went on to attend Endicott College in Massachusetts, where she discovered both her independence and her enduring fondness for the New England coast.

Donna enjoyed a long and successful career in advertising, working as a media buyer and director for several Boston agencies before joining Comcast as a senior advertising sales representative. Known for her creativity, sharp mind, and humor, Donna had a gift for connecting with people and for turning clients into friends.

In 1983, she and her family settled in Dartmouth, MA, where she became an active member of the community. She served on several boards, including Child & Family Services (as President) and First Citizens' Federal Credit Union (as Vice Chairman). Donna also lent her leadership skills to her community association in Fort Myers, where she and Ted enjoyed their winters among sunshine, friends, and the occasional happy hour.

Above all, Donna's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her three sons: Matthew Ingalls of Dubai, UAE; Benjamin Ingalls of Fairfield, CT; and Jeff Miller of Washington, DC; and her beloved daughters-in-law, Yasmine Khattab, Lindsay Ingalls, and Catherine Miller. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren who all adored their "Nonna Donna" and inherited much of her humor and joie de vivre. Donna also leaves behind her identical twin sister, Leslie Galacar of Manchester, MA, along with three nephews and their children. Leslie was Donna's lifelong confidante and co-conspirator, and the two of them were responsible for decades of twin-related hijinks and laughter.

Donna will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, quick wit, and ability to make everyone around her feel seen and loved. She lived fully, laughed often, and left the world brighter than she found it.

ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2026. Details will be announced at a later date. As Donna would have insisted, there will be good food (and Chardonnay!), good music, and plenty of laughter. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Donna's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN, 38105.
