PEABODY – Mrs. Doreen P. Luz-Bernard, 68 of Peabody and the loving wife of Michael R. Bernard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington following a lengthy illness.

Born in Peabody, Doreen was the daughter of Richard Luz, Sr. and Arlene (Whitcomb) Luz. She was raised and educated in Topsfield and was a graduate of Masconomet Regional High School. She was a member of the Blue Angels Drum and Bugle Corps in Danvers.

Doreen dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to her career as a Comptroller for various car dealerships, where her exceptional organizational skills and commitment to excellence earned her admiration from colleagues and friends alike. She later worked at Vinnin Liquors as a Comptroller, with the same fervor and passion that characterized her entire career.

Known to be the ultimate jokester, Doreen had an infectious sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to all those around her creating cherished memories that will linger in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her loving husband, Michael of Peabody and parents, Richard Sr. and Arlene Luz of Toms River, NJ; Doreen is survived by her son, James "Jim" Luz of NH; daughters, Tracey Ann Hower of NC, Melissa Kelly and her husband, Michael of FL and Amanda Bernard of Lawrence; her 5 grandchildren; siblings, Darlene Lord and her husband, Kevin, Derrick Luz and his wife, Janice and Darryl Luz and his wife, Iris of NJ; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Lord, Carol Plante, and Patricia Sarantis of Peabody and Nancy O'Connell and her husband, Daniel of Wenham and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Saturday, December 14th from 10 A.M. to 12 (NOON).
