MIDDLETON- Mrs. Doris (Hanson) Mitchell 73, of Middleton, beloved wife of Rodney Mitchell, died Wednesday, Feb. 25th, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her loving family, following her courageous battle with cancer. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of Mary L. (Donovan) Hanson of South Boston and the late Buddy Hanson. She was raised and educated in South Boston and was a graduate of Gate of Heaven grammar school and High School in 1959. She was an ever so devoted and loving wife, step mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend and will be so very missed by all. She was a longtime resident of the Town of Middleton. Doris is survived by her beloved husband of 26 years and in love for 20 years prior, Rodney Mitchell of Middleton, her mother Mary L. (Donovan) Hanson of South Boston, her three devoted sisters and their spouses Maureen and Bob Kane of Quincy, Lois and Dan Picard of South Boston and Paula Graham of Glen N.H., her equally devoted and "favorite" brother William Hanson of Mattapoisett, her two stepsons, Jamie Mitchell of Danvers and Kevin Mitchell and his wife Debra of Peabody, her grandchildren, Ashley Cheyenne Mitchell of Dorchester and Cameron Mitchell of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was the sister-in-law of late Frank Graham.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Saturday, Feb. 28th at 11:15 A.M. Followed by her funeral Mass in St. Agnes Church, Boston St., Middleton, at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours prior to her funeral from 9 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Doris' memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
