In loving memory, the family of Edward Francis "Bud" Sennott, announces his peaceful passing on February 25th, in his home in Boxford surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband to Ruth (Murphy) Sennott for sixty-nine years, and the devoted father and father-in-law of Peter Sennott and his wife Janet of Boxford, Stephanie LeDuc and her husband Gary of Gloucester, Robert Sennott and his wife Loren of Boxford, Leslie Sennott and her husband Bill Johnston of Winchester, Gretchen Sennott of Warwick RI, and the late Veronica Sennott; grandfather of fifteen, Danny, Erin, Tobi, Samantha, Corey, Shelley, Heather, Jamie, Timothy, Bryan, Lyndsey, Hayley, Tucker, Katherine, and Victoria, and great grandfather of sixteen, Rylie, Liam Edward, Maximus, Eoin, Veronica, Eamonn, Sloane, Blythe, Maeve, Quinn, James, Abigail, Charlie, Shane, Maya and Luke.
Bud was born on July 9, 1919 in Chelsea, Massachusetts. As a young boy he moved to Winthrop where he met and married Ruthie, the love of his life. Bud graduated from Winthrop High School in 1939 and was President of his Class for three years, voted "Most Likely to Succeed" and "Done the Most for the School". Shortly after their marriage, Bud left to fight in WW II. As a member of the United States Army, he fought at Omaha Beach on D-Day and went on to fight in the Battle of the Bulge.
After the War, Bud and Ruth moved to Boxford where he built his family home on Chap- man Road and raised his six children. He established the Sennott Insurance Agency in 1946, first in Lynn and eventually settling in Topsfield Center, which is now operated by his two sons.
Bud could be seen having breakfast at the Boxford Community Store with his wife and other community friends. Not only was he a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, he also helped start the Boxford Pee Wee Hockey Program. Eventually, this developed into the Boxford Athletic Association, where he later served as its President. His love of sports and the community showed through as he continued to coach long after his own children outgrew youth sports.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be held in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield, on Wednesday, Feb. 29 at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) Danvers, Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M.
