DANVERS – Mr. Edward Arthur Fudge 92, of Danvers, beloved husband of Janice B. (Dunn) Fudge, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 13 th , 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late John and Belle Adalyn (Petit) Fudge. He was raised and educated in Winchester and was a graduate of Winchester High School, class of 1949. Following High School, he joined the United States Army. Upon returning from serving his country, he continued his education at Tufts University, earning his bachelor's degree and graduating as a member of the class of 1957.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal and Army Occupation Medal (Japan) for valor.
Mr. Fudge had been employed for Charles T. Main, Inc, Engineering of Boston from 1956 until the time of his retirement in 1993. Professionally, he was a skilled Civil Engineer and was well respected for his commitment to his company for over 35 years.
A loving and devoted husband and father, Edward was a long-time resident of the Town of Danvers. A devoted and active member of the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers, Ed volunteered much of his time and efforts to the well being of the church. He served as Treasurer of the church for over 9 years and was truly a part of the fabric of the church community. He also resided in Beaverton, Oregon before returning to Danvers. He enjoyed spending his free time traveling with his wife and keeping his mind sharp by working on computers. Above all else he was a devoted family man.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Janice B. (Dunn) Fudge of Danvers, his children, James E. Fudge and his wife, Mary of Vancouver, WA, David A. Fudge and his wife, Gloria of Arona, Italy, Diane E. Vance and her husband, Robert of Vancouver, WA, and Rebecca Yung Sun Ezzard and her husband, William of Old Orchard Beach, ME, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Barbara DeMatteo and William, John, G. Kenneth and Robert Fudge.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS, Tuesday, July 19 th at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Wadsworth Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 A.M. His funeral service will also be livestreamed.
