MILFORD - Mr. Edward Leon Pauling, of Milford, MA, passed away on August 17th, 2024 at the age of 93, from natural causes, with his beloved wife Margaret (Powers) Pauling with whom he shared 70 years of marriage by his side.
Edward was born and raised in Salem, MA and graduated from Salem High School. He continued his education at Boston University School of Management where he graduated with Honors. Edward began a long and successful career with General Electric in their Business Training Program and remained a dedicated employee there for over 40 years, moving from Syracuse NY to Oklahoma City to Mahwah NJ and finally to Clifton Park NY where he was a financial analyst at the GE Global Research and Development Center.
Ed was an avid golfer, loved to play bridge and enjoyed tending to his yard. He was actively involved at St. Edward the Confessor church in Clifton Park, acting as a Eucharistic Minister and assisting with the finances. He and Margaret loved to travel and took many wonderful trips that took them across the globe. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by family and the many friends that he made throughout his life.
In addition to his wife Margaret, Edward leaves behind his son, Timothy Pauling and his wife, Lisa of Walnut Creek CA and his daughter, Joanne Smith and her husband, Gary, of Milford, MA. He also leaves 5 grandchildren Jeremy, Rachel, Matthew, Andrew and Emily and his great-granddaughter, Riley Smith.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held at Ste. Anne's Church, Jefferson Ave., Salem on Tuesday, August 27th, 2024 at 11 A.M. A short visitation will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Ed's memory to Catholic Charities, 40 N Main Ave., 3rd Floor, Albany, NY 12203.
