SWAMPSCOTT - Mrs. Elsa G. Cohn 93, of Swampscott, beloved wife of the late John T. Cohn, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, she was raised and educated in Trinidad and received her schooling in London, England and Paris, France. She has been a resident of the City of Salem for many years. A loving wife and mother, Elsa focused her young life to raising and supporting her family. Following her husband passing, she had been employed with the City of Salem, Transportation Department. She was a bus driver for children with special needs retiring in the early 1990's. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Elsa was devoted to her faith. She was an active communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Salem and a member of the Woman's Sodality. She did her best to support her family as a single mother following the passing of her husband at a young age. She worked tirelessly so that they could have great opportunities in life. She supported five children by self for many years and put all of the kids through college with out debt. She lived a good Christian life of putting others before herself. She set a great example of how to live an honest, hardworking and Christian life. She will be deeply missed. Elsa is survived by her daughters, Debbie Cohn and her partner Eileen McKee of Maui, HI and Nancy Cohn of Swampscott, her sons, Robert Cohn of Beverly and Alan Cohn and his partner Matthew Phelan of Kennebunk, ME, her seven grandchildren, her great grandson Milo, her sister, Sheila Blanc of Orlando and many nieces and nephews including Sharon Lovett of Jacksonville, Fl. She was the mother of the late Patricia Barnes and sister of the late Bianca Blanc, Nevil Blanc and Ivan Blanc.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Monday, Feb. 26th at 11 A.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Assisting the family with the arrangements is The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Elsa's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
