Mr. Ernest Anthony Adamopoulas, 91, of Danvers, died Sunday evening, April 7th, 2013 at Hathorne Hill Nursing and Retirement Center in Danvers. Born in Dover, N.H. he was the son of the late Anthony and Virginia (Argyrakis) Adamopoulos. He was raised and educated in Peabody and attended the University of Connecticut. An honorably discharged veteran, he served in the United States Coast Guard during WW II. Mr. Adamopoulas had been employed as a Metropolitan Life Insurance Agent for many years until the time of his retirement. A longtime member of the St. Vasilios Men's Club, Ernest was an avid golfer and member of the Salem Municipal Golf Course. He was a member and past governor of the AHEPA. Ernest is survived by his daughter, Linda Hiou and her husband Argeros of Danvers and his son, Anthony Adamopoulos and his partner James Kaufmann of Boxford, his grandchildren, Alexandra Hiou of Oregon and Jessiaha and Andrew Adamopoulos; his brothers, Charles Adamopoulos, Peter Adamopoulos and his wife Virginia of California, Socrates Adamopoulos and his wife Anna of Lynn, his sister in law Despina of Groveland and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Arthur Adamopoulos. ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers, Wednesday, April 10th, from 4 to 7 P.M. Burial will be private.
