DANVERS – Mrs. Esta R. (DiPaolo) Woods, 89, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 30th, 2023. Born in Danvers, she was the beloved daughter of the late Rocco and Matilda (Smigliani) DiPaolo. Esta was the loving wife of John H. Woods.

Raised and educated in Danvers, Esta graduated from Danvers High School, class of 1951 and went on to further her education at Salem Teacher's College in 1955. After graduation, she began teaching at the Great Oaks School in Danvers where she taught for 2 years. In 1956 she married the love of her life, John, and they went on to begin their family and celebrate 52 years of marriage.

After starting their family, Esta started her new journey as a wife and mother. She was proud of her Italian heritage, and it showed in her skills in cooking and baking, especially cake decorating. Esta loved hosting family events and holidays, where her warm heart and caring nature shined through. In her younger years she loved a good tennis match, and later on switched over to bridge and crosswords. A loving mother and grammy, she will truly be missed.

Esta is survived by her children; John D. Woods of East Kington, NH, and Karen Modini and her husband Richard of Danvers, as well as grandchildren; Eric Woods and Mark Woods. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John H. Woods and her daughter Janice Woods.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are to attend Esta's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St, (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Wednesday, December 6th at 12P.M. A visiting hour with be held prior, from 11 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be privately held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102,, Danvers MA 01923.
