PEABODY- Mrs. Ethel (Marotta) Saladino 84, of Peabody, formerly of Saugus and Topsfield, died, Thursday, May 28th, 2015 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her family.
Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Ethel (Ernst) Marotta. She was raised and educated in Chelsea and was a graduate of Chelsea High School.
Mrs. Saladino had been employed with the Dunn and Bradstreet Company as an Administrative Assistant. When she married her family became foremost in her life. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Ethel was a long time resident of the Town of Saugus, she was a member of the Saugus Conservation Committee and was a long time communicant and C.C.D. teacher at the Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Margaret's Church of Saugus. Ethel was a proud wife of a veteran and resided in Topsfield, and more recently Brooksby Village.
A woman who was always willing to lend a hand, Ethel was an artist at heart who enjoyed spending her time dancing, painting, shopping and sewing. She loved the beach, the pool and vacationing with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Donna Saladino Pino of Boston, her grandchildren, Tonya Pino Taylor of Newton and Jason Pino, and his wife, Jesse Lawson Pino, of South Boston, her great grandchildren, Meaghan Taylor and Ione June Pino, her beloved cousin Mildred Beeler of Topsfield, her brother-in-law, William Slade and his wife Priscilla of Boxford, her sister-in-law, Natalie Saladino of North Reading, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours prior to the funeral from 10 to 12 Noon.
