IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eva (Constant)
Soucy
April 26, 1944 – October 3, 2025
DANVERS - Eva (Constant) Soucy, 81, a ffectionately known as "Yiayia" to all who loved her, passed away peacefully after a courageous year-long battle with glioblastoma on Friday, October 3rd, 2025.
Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico while her father served in the military, Eva soon moved to the East Coast, where she became a proud graduate of Holten Richmond High School in Danvers, class of 1962. Her early years were filled with the joy of competitive dancing at Dolly's Dance Studio – a passion she shared with her sisters. That joy never left her; she was known to whip everyone around the dance floor with unmatched energy and flair.
Eva's heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her three children: Thomas Stamulis of Winchester, VA; George Stamulis of Rye, NH; and Denise Stamulis of Bradford, MA. Her four granddaughters – Taylor Stamulis, Jordan Stamulis, Amalia Panagiotakopoulos, and Melina Panagiotakopoulos – were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Linda Constant and Georgiana Maly and her husband, Byron, along with many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, George and Hazel Constant; her husband, Roger Soucy; and her loving partner, John Carr.
As a longtime resident of Danvers, Eva gave her time to the Danvers Little League, the Topsfield Fair and Family Festival. She was found in the cheering section at Plains Park, Twin Rinks, and countless soccer fields. She herself became a weekly regular at Sunnyside Bowling with the Lakeside Ladies. She spent over 30 years working at Sylvania, where she built lifelong friendships and a legacy of dedication and warmth.
Her happy place was always the beach – first Pine Point, Maine with her children, and later Salisbury Beach, where she spent the last 15 summers. She loved traveling, especially family trips to the Outer Banks, and found joy in life's simple pleasures: reading, coloring intricate patterns with her vast collection of pencils, and sharing her signature tough love. Her famous phrases – "You'll survive" and "It's gonna rain" – were delivered with a wink and a dose of realism that only Eva could pull off. The sound of a cowbell will always signify dinner time – or time to get home – and you knew to obey.
Spicy, yet loving. Realistic, yet full of heart. Eva was a force of nature whose legacy lives on in the laughter, strength, and love of her family and friends.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
