PEABODY - Mrs. Fernanda (Figueiredo) Simoes 98, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Gaspar Simoes, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Amelia (Fernandes) Figueiredo. Fernanda spent her early years in Portugal before returning to the United States, where she embarked on a fulfilling journey of love, family, and hard work. From her days as a soldering technician at CBS Hytron in Danvers to her time as a skilled seamstress at New England Sportswear, Fernanda found joy and fulfillment in her work, always striving for excellence.

Known for her passion for family, finding great joy in cooking Sunday lunches and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Her love for crocheting  was reflected in the countless afghans she lovingly crafted and gifted to family and friends. She was very proud of her family and was happiest when surrounded by them, doting on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and could also be found in the company of her favorite canine friend. Fernanda was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church as well as the Portuguese Social Club, where she and her husband immersed themselves in the community, forming lasting friendships and cherished memories. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be forever remembered for her love of family, her generous nature and kind spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Fernanda are her sons, Gaspar Simoes and his wife, Janice of Beverly, and Roy Simoes and his wife, Maria of Peabody, her grandchildren, Nicole Repp and her husband, Justin of Beverly, Alex Simoes and his wife, Fernanda Quintel of Ipswich, Christina M. Simoes and her husband, Charles J. Bradford of South Boston, and Andrew J. Simoes of Carnelian Bay, CA, her great-grandchildren, Annie Grace, Ashton Thomas and Josie Eliza, and her brother, Fernando Figueiredo and his late wife, Maria of Peabody, her nieces, Maria and Anna and her nephew, Manuel.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral which will be held from O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) SALEM on Tuesday, July 30th at 8 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9 A.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
