DANVERS – Ms. Francine (Scotti) McElvenny, 75 of Beverly, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026 in Danvers, with her loving family by her side.
Fran was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, to Edna and Edmond Scotti, and after Edna’s early passing, was lovingly raised by her sister, Bunny Smith, alongside Bunny and Bill’s children.
Recognizing her passion for people, she started her career in cosmetology before shifting into hospitality. Her adventurous spirit led her to St. Maarten, where she ran a restaurant alongside her husband Jim and step-brother, Steve. Francine returned to Beverly, MA to start a family, and as her children grew, she became heavily involved in volunteering for their schools and extracurriculars. They later moved to Florida as a family, where Francine worked at Citibank, a career which enabled her to travel and teach others around the world before she retired. In retirement, she found joy and purpose as a Surgical Liaison at Beverly Hospital.
Fran had a passion for riding horses, all things Disney, and great food, both eating it and cooking it for the people she loved. One could always find Fran by the water, whether it was at Water Aerobics with her friends at the Danvers YMCA, a pool day with family, or with her toes in the sand at the beach. She was a devoted mother, and her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her children, siblings, and beloved grand-nieces and nephews, who called her Gigi.
Fran is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” McElvenny and his wife, Ashley of Denver, CO; her daughter, Petra McElvenny of Los Angeles, CA; Her beloved Grandpups, Jane and Leia; her sister, Tammy Rodolico; her brothers, Bill Smith and Chuck Smith; her sister/mom Bunny Masse and her husband Bob Masse, and her nieces, Sarah Petersen, Stephanie DeJesus, Tara Mandelbaum, and Mcartney Smith.
