Obituary

MARBLEHEAD - Mrs. Geraldine A. (Eagan) Michaud, 77, of Marblehead, beloved wife of Thomas M. Michaud, passed away after her heroic battle with cancer on Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Olga (Sarowsky) Eagan. She was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School.

An entrepreneur at heart, Geraldine (Gerry) possessed a keen eye for quality and style. This was the perfect combination that enabled her to run her successful antique business, Antiques at 285 Derby, for many years. She loved the hunt for new treasures for the shop and meeting and making friends of the many customers who frequented her business over the years.

First and foremost family was Gerry's passion. She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend.  Gerry was happiest when with her family, doting on her grandchildren and making memories. She was the consummate host for all family gatherings, making each holiday special, adding her special touch to every event and making sure everyone had a great time. Warm, friendly, outgoing and kind it isn't hard to picture Gerry surrounded by her many friends, at the beach, or on their many shopping trips. She volunteered and sat on the board of Magic Hat in Marblehead for several years. Gerry and Tom travelled the world where they never met stranger's only new friends. She will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones and will be deeply missed by all who had the honor to know her.

Surviving Gerry, in addition to her husband Tom, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage is her daughter, Meredith Nelson and her spouse, Ryan of Marblehead, her sons, David Michaud and his spouse, Daryl of Glastonbury, CT and Christopher Michaud of Beverly, her grandchildren, Adam Michaud, Aidan Michaud, Arianna Michaud, Anthony Michaud, Max Michaud, Drew Nelson and Cale Nelson, her sister, Linda Dullea and her spouse, John of Peabody and her brother, Phillip "PJ" Eagan of Sarasota, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jon Eagan.
