MIDDLETON – Mrs. Gertrude A. (Peachey) Peaslee, 92, of Middleton, beloved wife of the late William H. Peaslee, died January 5, 2021 at her home following a brief illness.
Born in Haverstraw, New York, she was the daughter of the late Alviah and Gertrude (Nyman) Peachey. She was raised and educated in New Jersey, and in Lynn and Middleton, Massachusetts, and was a graduate of the former Holten High School in Danvers. Growing up in a large family, Gertrude, throughout her life, was especially close to her siblings.
Gertrude was a skilled horticulturist having been associated with the former Middleton Greenhouse for many years.
A true "lady," Gertrude always carried herself with great class and dignity. She was devoted to her catholic faith and a member of St. Agnes Church in Middleton. A talented crafter, she made many collectables over the years and enjoyed sharing her beautiful creations with family and friends as gifts. She was a devoted sister and aunt who was always willing to help family and friends in their time of need. She will be deeply missed.
Gertrude is survived by her brother, Retired Chief of the Middleton Police Department, Robert Peachey Sr., of Middleton, Doris Barrett of Las Vegas, NV, and Marion Elms of Sanbornville, NH, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was the sister of the late Rita Tinkham, Rosemary L'Abbe, and George, Raymond and Earl Peachey.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral services will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gertrude's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL., Memphis TN 38105.
