TINTON FALLS, NEW JERSEY - Gloria J. Bliss peacefully passed away surrounded by her children at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ on December 13, 2018.

Gloria was a woman of great humor. She loved laughing with her dear friends and family at any occasion. She had a quick wit and always had a punchline ready. A devoted stay at home mom for most of her married life, she was always present for her children. Trips to the beach every day in the summer, sport practices and organizing big family gatherings for birthdays and holidays were important parts of her life that she did so well. Her children were raised with the same humor and competitiveness that Gloria shared whether in sports, cards or cheering on her NY Mets. Her dearest friends were the ones that shared her sense of humor.

Mrs. Bliss graduated from Kearny High School and the Berkeley School of Business. She loved her work as the secretary to the president of Cannon Mills and later Karastan carpets in New York before she married.

Gloria was married to her husband Fred for 65 years. Together they raised their family in Little Silver, NJ and on the beaches of Sea Bright, NJ. They retired to their home on Pawley's Island, S.C. and most recently for thirteen years at Brooksby Village, Peabody, MA. They spent much of their retired life traveling, going out for lunch every day and seeing friends. As a couple, they did everything together and were rarely seen apart. Gloria was a long time member of Tower Hill Presbyterian Church in Red Bank, and Sandlass Beach Club. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Bliss, her parents Charles and Florence Schatzman of Arlington, NJ and her brother Charles Schatzman of Brewster, MA

Gloria is survived by her children, Cynthia and Alan Sagosz of Little Silver, NJ, Nancy Brown of Metairie, LA and Rick Bliss of Marblehead, MA. The special loves of her life were her grandchildren Christopher Sagosz, Nashville, TN, Aubrey Bliss and Daniela Bliss, Swampscott, MA. Gloria's caregivers at home Teresa, Grace, Irma, Carmen and Casey were dear friends she leaves behind.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Friday, December 21st at 9 A.M.
