IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Henry Phillip
Joseph Morin
April 6, 1931 – August 17, 2021
SALEM – Mr. Henry Phillip Joseph Morin, 90 of Salem passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Salem, Henry, fondly known as Phillip, was the son of the late Leon and Amelia (Gauthier) Morin. Raised and educated in Salem, he attended St. Mary's Catholic School and continued his education at Salem High School.
Following his education, at the age of 16, Phillip enlisted in the United States Army for several years along with the United States Marine Corps where he proudly protected his country and fought during the Korean War.
Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Phillip went to work with his father as a steeplejack, working throughout the North Shore. A jack of all trades, Phillip worked as a carpenter, roofer and brick mason. Through his attention to detail and devotion to his work, Phil retired from Salem State College from the Facilities Maintenance Department, a career he enjoyed deeply.
A loyal and honest, brother, uncle and friend, Phillip enjoyed spending time with his family and dear friends. He took great pride in his physical appearance, devoting his time to body building and weight lifting throughout his early years. He enjoyed staying active, especially when he learned karate and earned his Green belt. He relished his friendship with his dear friend, Richard and all the activities they partook, especially fishing and target shooting on Belleau Lake in New Hampshire. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Phillip is survived by three sisters; Doris Driscoll of Middleton, Anita Marciano of Port St. Lucie, FL and Rita Tries of Ocala, FL, his 2 brothers; Daniel Morin of Salem and Robert "Butch" Morin of CA, and many nieces, nephews and dear friend, Richard Czubinski of Salem.
