IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ira B
Case, Jr.
July 9, 1951 – February 15, 2025
DANVERS – Ira B. Case, Jr., 73, of Danvers, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Woburn, he was the son of the late Ira and Thelma Case. Ira was a beloved brother, a cherished friend, and a vibrant soul who left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Ira was raised in Danvers although he attended and graduated from high school in Poughkeepsie, New York. Professionally, Ira worked with several construction companies before founding his own business here in Danvers, Case Overhead Doors, which he successfully ran until his retirement. A dedicated business owner, Ira's handiwork can be seen throughout the community. He was not only skilled in his trade but also possessed a passion for carpentry that showcased his creativity and craftsmanship. Ira approached life with an infectious energy, leaving a legacy of laughter and light, enriched by his sense of humor and mischievous spirit. Ira adored fishing and lobster fishing, spending countless days on the water, relishing the tranquility and the thrill of the catch. He found joy in camping trips with his siblings, creating memories that will be treasured forever. His playful nature shone through in many ways, especially when he gifted his nieces and nephews $100 in rolled quarters, a gesture that was as much a practical gift as it was a hilarious prank. He truly understood how to blend fun with family, as demonstrated by the time he donned a gorilla costume at a family Halloween campout, delighting (and startling) everyone around him. A former Mason and an avid snowmobiler, Ira loved traversing the scenic trails of Quebec and Yellowstone Park among many other places. His adventurous spirit drew him to many places, but it was the love of family and laughter that grounded him. Ira's ability to bring people together through shared experiences and heartfelt jokes will be missed deeply by those who loved him.
Ira is survived by his sister, Deborah Russo and her husband Domenic of Danvers, his niece, Cassandra Cassidy and her husband Sam of Manchester, Vermont, his nephew, Alexander Russo and his wife Leslie Yale of Tyler, Texas, his great niece and nephews, Cecelia Cassidy, Benjamin Cassidy, and Leonardo Russo and many friends.
