IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irene M.
(Baker) Salmonsen
June 10, 1931 – February 21, 2023
DANVERS - Mrs. Irene M. (Baker) Salmonsen, 91, better known to her family and friends as Pat, peacefully passed away in her home of 58 years, her final wish, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Pat was the beloved wife of Richard (Dick) Salmonsen.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Mark and Ellen (Seely) Baker. She was raised in Worcester where she met Dick as a teenager, her husband of 69 years. Pat was a graduate of Worcester Classical High School and continued her education, receiving her Associates Degree from Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire.
Pat was a loving, caring, and supportive wife, mother, Nana, and Great Nana. She never missed a school event, game, dance recital or birthday and made each one special, always arriving with a small bag of personalized goodies and trinkets. Birthdays and holidays were her specialty. She would spend weeks shopping for the perfect gifts for her family and friends. She was an amazing cook and hostess and would provide massive amounts of food and happiness at every cookout, party and family gathering. Pat and Dick were well traveled and explored Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and much of the United States. She was an avid reader, enjoyed planting flowers in her beautiful yard, sitting on her front porch with Dick, going to the beach, eating out and basically being on the go. Pat will be remembered for the love of her family, her generosity, intelligence, kindness to others and will be deeply missed by her loving family and all who had the pleasure to cross her path. Pat was truly the most unselfish person and always put family first. She was who we all aspire to be.
Surviving Pat, in addition to her husband Dick, are her daughters, Cathy Adkison and her husband Gary of Danvers, Julie Jones and her husband Jack of Beverly, her sons Rick Salmonsen Jr. and his wife Dianne of Gloucester, Mark Salmonsen and his wife Nancy of Danvers, and Steven Salmonsen and his companion Mary Leddy of Rye, New Hampshire, her grandchildren, Steven Adkison and his wife Dee, Jeffrey Adkison, Bryanne Shelton and her husband Ruben, Kirsten Salmonsen, Woody Salmonsen, Mycala Salmonsen, Hanna Salmonsen, Anders Salmonsen, Michael Salmonsen, Johnny Jones, Cassie Jones and Carly Jones, her great-grandchildren, Elliott and Alex Adkison and several nieces and nephews.
