Jacobs A.O. Unubun

LYNN – Mr. Jacobs Unubun, 65, of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly, August 15, 2026 in Boston surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Benin, Nigeria, he was the son of Gordon and Rebecca Unubun. He was raised and educated in Nigeria. Beginning his life here in America, he immediately excelled in earning his degree in Behavioral Science. Jacobs later built a career dedicated to helping others, working as a Behavioral Specialist. He was employed with Eliot Community Human Services and North Suffolk. He was respected by those who worked alongside him for his dedication, compassion, and strong work ethic.

Jacobs was a true family man and a proud father who found his greatest joy in the people he loved. He was especially proud of his three daughters and their accomplishments, and he loved them with all his heart. Being a father was one of the greatest joys of his life, and he never missed an opportunity to remind his daughters just how proud he was of them. Family always came first for Jacobs, and he cherished the time he spent surrounded by those closest to him.

Jacobs was also deeply involved in his community and served as the former President of the National Esan Association. He spent much of his life caring for those around him, always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and members of his community. He gave generously of his time and kindness, never looking for praise or recognition in return. He had a passion for jazz music and was an avid soccer fan. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes that could make an entire stadium erupt in laughter. His smile could light up a room and he always found a way to bring joy wherever he went.

Jacobs carried himself with a quiet strength rooted in faith, tradition, humility, and a deep sense of honor. To truly appreciate who he was, you had to experience the way he carried himself and the impact he had on those around him. It wasn’t just his work that inspired people, but the authenticity, grace, and warmth he brought into every space he entered. Those who knew him or had the privilege of being around him often spoke of his genuine spirit and the lasting impression he left on everyone he encountered. His laughter and personality will be remembered by all who knew him.

Jacobs is survived by his daughters; Jessica, Angela, and Rebecca. His siblings; Solomon, Paulyn, Edith, Stella & Patrick; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

His memory will live on through the family he loved so deeply, the lives he touched, and the joy he brought to those around him.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 374 Broadway, Lynn, on Saturday, Sept 19th at 10 A.M.
