Hanlon Jr.

PEABODY - Mr. James E. Hanlon Jr. 95, of Peabody, beloved husband of the late Frances (Fresia) Hanlon, passed away on Monday, October 3rd, 2023 at his home with his family at his side.
Born in Dorchester, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Margaret (McHugh) Hanlon. He was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School. James continued his education at the Wentworth Institute and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education as a proud alumni of the University of Pennsylvania.
An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Hanlon proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.
An Engineer by trade, James worked his entire professional career with the General Electric Company. Maintaining high professional standards coupled with his intelligence, and attention to detail in every job he undertook, set him apart from many of his contemporaries. His dedication and work ethic are what made him an exemplary employee.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, his family was most important to him. James set that standard and led by example and worked hard every day to provide for his family. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren's many accomplishments. He was well read and could converse on a wide variety of subjects and loved to share his vast knowledge with others. James was an avid golfer, a skilled Bridge player and enjoyed bowling. He had a great sense of humor, was always positive and kind to others and will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
Surviving James is his daughter, Jane Aloisio, and her husband, Mark of Salisbury, his son, Stephen Hanlon and his wife, Cindy of Fairfax Station, VA, his grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, David and Michael Hanlon, Lauren Aloisio, Michele Adorasi and James Aloisio, his great-grandchildren, Thomas and Theodore Hanlon, Anna and Caroline Morris, his sister, Helen Norton and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late James E Hanlon III.
