IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Edward
Hennessey, Jr.
June 15, 1956 – February 17, 2024
READING – Mr. James Edward Hennessey, Jr., 67 of Reading, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston, James, fondly known as Jimmy, was the son of the late James Sr. (US Navy Veteran), and Nancy (Staples) Hennessey. Jimmy grew up in West Quincy and was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree. Jimmy continued his education later in life attending Bunker Hill and received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
A hands-on man, Jimmy's knowledge and expertise in mechanics, created many professional opportunities throughout his life. From mechanical work on automotives and emergency vehicles, to working as at EMT, to insurance adjusting and Tower Ranger for the Andover Fire Department, Jimmy was trusted and depended on throughout his entire working career.
A true testament to his character is reflective in Jimmy's love for all animals, especially as a young boy where family remembers him taking in and caring for many wildlife creatures throughout his life. In adulthood, his passion continued towards his many fish in his large extensive fish tank. His quick wit and sarcasm endeared him to many and provided a lasting impact on all who knew and loved him. A devoted father to his 3 girls, Jimmy was blessed with a life rich in simplicity and love. He was truly happiest when on the water, fishing on the ocean or on Lake Winnipesaukee with his family and lifelong friends. Jimmy was a great man who left an impact on many, he will be deeply missed.
Jimmy is survived by his daughters, Nancy Hennessey of Malden, Nicole Hennessey of Malden and Natalie Hennessey of West Peabody; his sister, Elizabeth Hennessey Swindlehurst and her husband, Bob Swindlehurst of Orono, ME; 2 nieces, Kelly and Jessica; his former spouse and mother of his daughters, Fiorella Barone-Haskell and her husband, Robert Haskell of West Peabody; dear lifelong friends, Tom Alfieri and Arthur Kaplan; special cousin, Annmarie Swindlehurst and many other extended family members and dear friends.
