IPSWICH - Mr. James A. "Jim" Moller, 88, of Ipswich, formerly of Danvers, beloved husband of Janet (Young) Moller died Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Hathorne Hill Healthcare Center, Danvers.

Born in Newton, Jim was the son of the late Harry T. and Elizabeth (Crowell) Moller. He was raised and educated in Newton and was a graduate of Newton High School. Jim continued his education at Newton Jr. College and attended Northeastern University before receiving his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Montana, class of 1952.

An honorably discharged veteran, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War.

An Eagle Scout in his youth, Jim was employed as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America for several years and was the Executive Secretary for the Order of DeMolay in Massachusetts for many years.

A longtime resident of Danvers and Ipswich, Jim was a dedicated and active member of the Maple St. Congregational Church in Danvers, in which he served as Chairman of both its Board of Deacons and Board of Trustees. He was a past member of the Ipswich Bay Yacht Club, loved to play golf and garden. Dedicated to his family, community and Country, Jim was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.

An active and outstanding Mason, Mr. Moller was a member of the Amity-Mosaic Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Danvers and the John T. Heard Lodge of Ipswich. He was past Master of DeMolay Lodge of Boston and past District Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite Bodies, St. Bernard's Commandery, an Officer of the Massachusetts Consistory and a member of Aleppo Shrine Temple. He was honored for his contributions to Freemasonry and Scottish Rite by conferment of the 33rd Degree in St. Louis, Mo in 2003.

Surviving Jim in addition to his wife Janet with whom he shared 64 years of marriage, are his daughters, Joanne Burke and her husband Richard of Lynn and Jane Bitchell and her husband Michael of Peabody, his sons Jeffrey Moller and wife Rosemary of Norristown, PA and Jon Moller and his wife Laura of Exeter, NH, his grandchildren, Christine O'Hara and her husband Daniel, Steven Burke, Grace Moller, Jackson Moller and Christopher Bitchell and a great-granddaughter, Erin O'Hara. He was also the grandfather of the late Joshua Bitchell.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held in Maple St. Congregational Church, Maple St. Danvers on Saturday June 2nd at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers on Thursday, May 31st from 4 to 7 P.M.
