Obituary

NAPLES, FLORIDA - James W. Marshall, 76, of Naples, FL passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Peabody, MA, he was the son of the late James and Dorothy (Cody) Marshall. James was the husband and best friend of Debra (Mason) Marshall, with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage.

After graduating from Salem High School, Class of 1964, Jim attended Boston University before joining the Massachusetts State Police.  He graduated from North Shore Community College with an associate's degree in criminal justice and Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree, also in criminal justice. Jim graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Academy's 49th Recruit Training Troop in 1968 in Framingham, MA. He served as a Massachusetts State Police Officer for 32 years, retiring from Logan International Airport in 1999 as a Lieutenant. During his time at Logan Airport, Jim attended Secret Service training and served as a member of the International Association of Airport and Seaport Police. He also served 6 years in the Massachusetts National Guard in Salem, MA. Upon retirement from the State Police, he worked with the Essex County Sheriff's Department in Middleton, MA for 7 years. Jim also founded and ran International Security Management, a security consulting company.

Jim was a car enthusiast. He also enjoyed boating, golfing, Dunkin Donuts, and walks along the beach in Naples and in New England. Very special times included spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, Debra, James is survived by his children: James Charles Marshall of Danville, NH, Kathryn Wagner and husband, Christopher of Alexandria, VA, and Ryan T. Davis and his son, Aiden. He also leaves behind his devoted family pet, Sabrina.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend James' visitation that will be held at O'Donnell Cremations-Funerals-Celebration, 167 Maple St, (Rte 62) DANVERS on Saturday January 14th, 2023, from 9 to 10 A.M. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 10 A.M. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery, 30 Sylvan St, Danvers. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation to Avow Hospice Services (Naples, FL) at Avowcares.org/ways-to-give for their compassionate and caring services during his last days.
