BEVERLY – Jan (Bardol) Reiss Lowell, 88 of Beverly, beloved wife of the late Richard Lowell and Richard W. Reiss, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House with her loving family by her side.

Born in New Rochelle, New York, Jan was the daughter of the late Frank Howard and Ann Eleanor (Candage) Bardol.

Jan devoted her life to her family and was a proud wife and mother who opened her heart to all. Jan worked as a waitress and accountant, but the thing she was most proud of was being the Matriarch of her large and constantly growing family.

A talented baker and cook, Jan was happiest when making a meal or dessert; most famously her homemade cookies that she gifted for the holidays. Never missing a birthday, anniversary or accomplishment, she would send perfectly picked cards to her loved ones. She refused to let any challenges hold her back. Legally blind, Jan volunteered for numerous research organizations regarding her disability. She was fiercely independent well into her 80's, still getting out on her own several times each week to socialize with her friends at the Beverly Senior Center. She loved to play all kinds of games with her family, always maintaining her competitive spirit. Jan's spunk for life will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jan is survived by her large and extended family consisting of her own blood children, half and step children and the web that blends her family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws and more.
