PEABODY - Mrs. Jane Russell Bolton, age 90, died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 10th, 2016 at Brooksby Village in Peabody, MA. Jane was a long time resident of Andover and North Andover, as well as a 23 year resident of Kennebunk, ME before moving in August of 2013 to Brooksby. She will be deeply missed by many in each community.
Jane was raised in North Andover, married her late husband, John Wesson Bolton in 1953 and settled in Andover, raising three surviving, married daughters, Harriet Blanton and husband Dale of Salem, OR, Sarah Hoel (Sally) and husband, Rick of Danvers, MA and Katharine Radomsky and husband, Charles of Elizabethville, PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Miles Ford, Kavin Blanton, Sarah Elizabeth Radomsky, John Tyler Radomsky, Christopher Hoel and Jonathan Hoel as well as four great grandchildren: Kaleb and Ruby Blanton and Katherine and John Bolton Ford. She was Predeceased by her granddaughter Malika Blanton.
Jane studied education at Wheelock College and taught both nursery school and third grade at the Pike School in Andover. She was a member of the Episcopal churches in North Andover, Andover and Kennebunk. She enjoyed many years singing in the church choir. Jane was also a gifted needle worker, knitting and needlepoint were her favorite. She was a member of the Embroiderer's Guild of America and helped make the kneelers now in the Episcopal Church in Kennebunk. Jane loved animals and had many pets over her lifetime: the first a Cocker Spaniel and last a Conure, both named Peter. She also loved wild birds and lovingly fed them at her house in Andover and during the 23 years she lived in Kennebunk, ME. Along with feeding the birds, Jane was a plant lover and had a very green thumb with plants and flowers, indoors and out.
ARRANGEMENTS: Jane's family invites friends to an informal gathering to share stories, cookies, tears and laughter at the Brooksby Village Catering Room of the McIntosh Building, 300 Brooksby Village Dr. Peabody, Sunday Dec. 18th at 1 P.M. A private internment will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
