DANVERS – Mrs. Jean Barbara (Patchett) Snow 93, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Ralph T. Snow, died peacefully, February 20th, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Arlington, she was the daughter of the late Henry "Harry" and Carol (Jewett) Patchett. She was raised and educated in Cambridge until she moved to Holten St. in Danvers at the age of 11. Jean attended the former Holten High School in Danvers, where she was a member and Majorette of the High School Marching Band.

Jean and Ralph married after high school graduation and moved to Maple Street, where they raised their 4 children and Jean lived there for 70 years. Their home was a gathering point for family and friends.

Mrs. Snow assisted at her husband’s family’s bakery, Snow’s Bakery, which was a Danvers institution, often with lines gathering outside to purchase their bread and baked goods. There were many Danvers families who purchased their Thanksgiving pies for years from the Snow Family Bakery. Jean was proud to be associated with her husband and their family in the business. Later in life, she assisted her son and daughter-in-law in their professional career at the Highland Variety Store for many years.

Ralph took ill following all of his hard work and Jean cared for him for 25 years. She was attentive and kind as his caregiver and devoted herself to making sure all of his needs were met.

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother and aunt. She volunteered with many of her children’s activities, often pitching in when it was most needed. She was an avid seamstress and handmade clothing for herself and her children. She also made and sold doll clothes to a doll maker. She was a beautiful knitter and covered her family with warmth and love with Irish knit afghans and sweaters. Jean also spent many years repairing all the American Flags that flew throughout the town of Danvers office buildings. Something she took great pride in.

She had many hobbies and interests, including playing golf, trips to Foxwoods and ballroom dancing.

Jean was a great host and always had a houseful of people, visiting Ralph, stopping by for a coffee, a swim in the pool, a holiday dinner or luncheon after a funeral gathering; (she lived next door to a funeral home) it was almost daily that something was going on at her home and she relished in it all. She truly enjoyed having family and guests come by for a “visit”. Family was everything to her.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Barbara Elwin and her husband, David of Beverly, her sons, David Snow and Rose Pierce of Groveland and Gregory Snow and his wife, Judy of Danvers, her grandchildren, Mark, Karen, Ryan, Lisa, Michelle and Jeffrey, her 16 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the mother of the late Judith Robertson and grandmother of the late Bradley Snow and sister of the late Joan Connolly and June King
