SALEM – Attorney Jerome F. Twomey, 87 of Salem, passed away peacefully at Salem Hospital on Friday, August 19, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late Leo B and Margaret (McCallion) Twomey. He was raised in North Andover and a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He earned a bachelor's degree from Northeastern University and his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University School of Law, following which he practiced law in Salem until his retirement in 2007. In addition, he served as an Instructor at Salem State University, where he enjoyed challenging young minds and the next generation of lawyers from 1973 to1985. He also served as an incorporator and Trustee of Eastern Bank for 33 years, stepping down in 2005.

Jerome is survived by his five children, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, his daughters, Susan Feniger and her husband, Michael of Hampton Falls, NH, Andrea Killam and her husband, Brad of Stow, MA; his sons, Christopher Twomey of Beverly, John Twomey and his wife, Julie of Tamworth, NH, and Peter Twomey of Salem; his granddaughters, Allison Harvey and her husband, Joseph of Exeter, NH and Rachel Feniger of Santa Barbara, CA; his great-grandchildren, Emerson and Arabella Harvey; his siblings, Margaret Hickey of Salem, NH and David Twomey of San Diego, CA as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Bernard Twomey of Newbury, MA.

Jerry will be remembered by his children and grandchildren as a loving and supportive father and grandfather.  By friends and family for his work ethic, commitment, sense of humor and wit. By his former clients and colleagues for his integrity and sense of honor in the practice of law.
