NORTH ANDOVER – Mrs. Joan Marie (Kalapinski) Rossi, 90 of North Andover, formerly of Topsfield and the loving wife of the late Richard F. Rossi, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31st, 2024 at Lawrence General Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in Lynn, Joan was the daughter of the late Walter "Paddy" and Theresa (Devine) Kalapinski. Joan was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Joan devoted her life to providing a warm and loving home for her family. Growing up with six siblings, Joan loved being around her large family and creating her own, sharing over 59 years of marriage with her loving husband, doting on her children and later in life, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime resident of the Town of Topsfield and a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church up until her final days, faithfully attending Mass in person and live stream. Joan will be remembered for her love of family and deeply rooted faith. She will be missed.
Surviving Joan are her daughters, Linda Meagher of North Andover, Stacy-Ann Barshick and her husband, Christopher of Lexington, VA; her son, Richard Rossi and his wife, Barbara of Lyndeborough, NH; her daughter-in-law, Melinda Rossi of Enumclaw, WA; her grandchildren; Edward Meagher, Madison Barshick, Lindsey Barshick, Jennifer Rossi and her husband, Matthew Willis, Amy Rossi, Patrick Rossi and his wife, Alexis, Richard Rossi, III and his wife, Zaray, Kyle Rossi and his wife, Megan and Jason Rossi; beloved great-grandchildren; Meghan and Matthew Meagher, Louise, Phoebe and Bennett Rossi, Enzo Rossi, Frederic Rossi and another great-grandchild Rossi on the way. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Kalapinski and his wife, Martha of Raymond, NH and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Scott Rossi, mother-in-law of the late Edward Meagher and sister of the late, Theresa (Franny), William (Buddy), Patricia (Patsy), Richard (Dickie) and Bruce.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joan's funeral which will be held from O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Friday, September 6th at 9:30 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Church, 12 Park St., Topsfield at 10:30 A.M. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield. Visiting hours on Thursday, September 5th from 4 to 7 P.M.
