SALEM – Mrs. Joanne (Eagar) Mizioch, 87, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Mizioch, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of the community and family she cherished.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Nimblett) Eagar. Raised and educated in Peabody, Joanne was a proud graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Class of 1957.

Joanne possessed a steadfast dedication to everything she set her mind to. She enjoyed a successful 35-year career in the banking industry, where her steady presence and reliable warmth served as a reassuring anchor through no less than six bank mergers. Beyond her own career, Joanne was a constant source of support in the family business, working side by side with her husband and children to support Mizioch Catering.

A pillar of the Salem community, Joanne lived her life with an open heart and a deep sense of civic pride. She devoted countless hours to civic and community organizations, serving as a dedicated member of the City of Salem Cemetery Commission, the Salem Women’s Club, the Salem Democratic Committee, and the Salem Garden Club. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and as a devoted, long-time communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Joanne was woven into the very fabric of the church community. Whether serving as a Eucharistic Minister or helping to tend and beautify the church grounds, she poured her energy into caring for her parish family.

To know Joanne was to know someone who truly saw the world through rose-colored glasses. She was quick with a smile, easy to laugh, and had a wonderful, infectious habit of laughing at her own jokes before she could even reach the punchline. She loved freely, openly, and without reservation, endearing herself to everyone blessed enough to cross her path. Above all, Joanne was fiercely proud of her family. Her home on Nursery Street was the heart of every holiday and gathering, filled with warmth, hospitality, and endless love. She rarely missed a moment in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always standing on the sidelines or in the audience with an encouraging word and a tight hug. A loyal friend and a truly special soul, Joanne leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unconditional love that will never be forgotten.

Joanne is survived by her daughter, Mary Margaret Mizioch of Salem; her sons, John Mizioch and his wife Mary of Sanford, Maine, and Patrick Mizioch and his wife Christine of Peabody; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley, John, Jordan, Cameron, Alex and Zach; her adored great-grandchildren, Jayden, Jaxson, Jordyn, John, James, Penelope, Noell and Jace; her brother, James R. Eagar of Lynn; and several extended family members, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Harvey Eagar, and her sister, Mary “Sis” Geary.
