GROVELAND - Mr. John Cianci, 86 of Groveland, formerly of Peabody and Acton, ME, beloved husband of Eleanor M. (Harrigan) Cianci passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023 at Masconomet Healthcare in Topsfield, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Santo and Michelina (Ferro) Cianci. He was raised and educated in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Trade School. Following graduation John entered the General Electric Apprentice Program. Upon completion, John continued his education receiving his bachelor's degree in engineering from Tufts University.
He then began a long and very rewarding career at GE as a mechanical engineer, where he was known for his expertise, his impeccable attention to detail and his dedication to the company for over 40 years. After retiring from GE this self-proclaimed workaholic began his own consulting business JC Engineering and continued to ply his craft for several more years.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John loved his family. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his dedication to his family. He designed and built his and Eleanor's retirement home in Acton, ME and enjoyed nothing more than filling it with family. He relished spending time with his grandchildren, playing, joking, and just goofing around. He was outgoing, caring and was always ready to support family and friends. He had a big heart, a big personality and a great smile that endeared him to many. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.
Surviving John, in addition to his wife Eleanor with whom he shared 67 years of marriage, are his children, Debra Parker and her husband, Fred of Topsfield, Sandra Pezzulo and her husband, Rick of Knoxville, TN, Paul Cianci and his wife, Darlene of Groveland and John Cianci of Georgetown, his 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, his sister, Stella Monaco and her husband, Andrew of Medford. John was also the loving brother of the late Anna DeLuca, Josephine Webber, Salvatore Cianci, Arthur Cianci, and David Cianci.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held at Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove St. Lynnfield on Wednesday, June 7th, 2023 at 11 A.M. Burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St. Peabody. Visitation will be held at the church, prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M.
