DANVERS – Mr. John J. Passanisi 86, of Danvers, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Vaughan) Passanisi, died peacefully, August 11 ^th , 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Domenic and Josephine (D'Amico) Passanisi. He was raised and educated in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. He continued his education at Boston College, and later employed as a truck driver.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, John was devoted to his family. "Danvers John" was a long-time member of the Italian Community Club in Beverly. He enjoyed spending free time deep sea fishing, digging for clams, and picking ricci. A great cook, John enjoyed preparing his delicacies for others. He was also an extremely talented cake decorator. Above all else he was a devoted family man and will be deeply missed.

John had six children: Teresa Wagoner, Michael Passanisi, and Charles Passanisi of Danvers; Domenic Passanisi of Bronx, NY; Christopher Passanisi of Oakland, CA; and Matthew Passanisi of San Diego, CA. His grandchildren: Thomas and his partner Alexis, Elizabeth and her partner Jess, and Nora; four great grandchildren: Sophia, Leia, Chevy, and Jordan; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Mary Rosetti, Thomas Passanisi, Nellie Astone, Charles Passanisi, and Rose Sweeney.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers, Tuesday, August 17 ^th at 9 A.M. All other services are private. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
