PEABODY – Mr. John Americo Saccoccio, 90 of Peabody, loving husband of the late Marjorie A. (White) Saccoccio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Ashland Farm Assisted Living in North Andover, with his family by his side.

Born in Cranston, Rhode Island, John was the eleventh child born to Michele A. and Arcangela (Stamegna) Saccoccio. He was raised and educated in Cranston where he was a high school graduate.

From January 1951 to January 1954 John proudly served his country as an Electronics Technician on the US Coast Guard Icebreaker Eastwind. He spent 2 years and 5 months at sea during his enlistment. After his honorable military discharge in 1954, John dedicated over 40 years working for the United States Government Department of Transportation.

A loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and overall family man, John was happiest when with his family. He was the ultimate handyman, a perfectionist with his work and would drop anything to help family or friends in need. After retiring John and his wife Marjorie traveled extensively around the United States and Europe, including a visit to his family home in Itri, Italy. He and his wife enjoyed many skiing trips, teaching their whole family how to ski. John was a member of the Eastwind Association and while raising his sons, volunteered often at St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers where his sons were educated. He was a great man who will be deeply missed by his loving family.

John is survived by his 5 sons and their spouses; John Saccoccio and his wife, Selena of Andover, MA; Joseph Saccoccio and his wife, Dale of Cheshire, CT; Mark Saccoccio and his wife, Cheryl of Amesbury, MA; Michael Saccoccio of Peabody, MA; and Thomas Saccoccio of Warwick, RI, his grandchildren, Max Saccoccio, Rico Saccoccio, and Benjamin Saccoccio, and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's funeral Mass which will be held at St. Adelaide's Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 12 P.M. (Noon).
