SALEM - Mr. Jose Frometa Vasquez, 78, beloved husband of Georgina (Perez) Frometa, passed away on January 25th, 2025 at Salem Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Jose was the son of the late Nicola and Aurelia Vasquez Frometa. Jose was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic before bringing his family to Salem in 1981.

Jose was a dedicated leather worker, pouring his passion and craftsmanship into his job. But those who knew him best will remember him not just for his work ethic but for his vibrant spirit. He was a true social butterfly, known for his warm heart and friendly demeanor. Every weekend, Jose could be found celebrating life with his large extended family and a circle of friends that stretched across the globe. His laughter and joy were infectious, making every gathering a memorable one.

An avid fisherman, Jose spent countless nights and early mornings at the lighthouse and Winter Island, where he found solace and joy in the quietude of nature and the excitement of the catch. His love for fishing became a beloved tradition that he shared with family and friends.

Jose is survived by his beloved wife, Georgina (Perez) Frometa, his sons, Raul Frometa of Haverhill and Jose Frometa of the Dominican Republic, his daughter, Rosanna Frometa of Amesbury, his siblings, Miguelina Vasquez, Rafaela Vasquez, Luis Vasquez, Felicia Vasquez, Dorothea Vasquez, and Nino Vasquez, ten grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jose's Funeral Service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Friday, January 31st, 2025 at 11 A.M.
