Obituary

SALEM - Joseph J. Fratangelo, (72) of Salem, loving husband of Anne Marie (Tondreau) Fratangelo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15th, 2025 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Joseph was the son of the late Ernest Sr., and Mary (Garofalo) Fratangelo. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English, class of 1969. Following his high school graduation, Joe continued his education at North Shore Community College.

A talented and skilled mason, Joe followed in his grandfather's footsteps and devoted part of his working career to his own masonry business. His perfectionism allowed him to master the trade and thrive in the industry. Later on in life, Joe continued his working career partnering with his brother Ernie, to help run the family business, Ernie's Harvest Time of Lynn.

A devoted husband, father and papa, Joe was a hard working man who always put his family first. Joe was happiest when spending time with his family and grandchildren and always took pleasure in gardening and spending time outside in his yard. Hunting and fishing were also some of his favorite hobbies. Vacationing was another favorite pastime of his; enjoying many years in Aruba and adventures in Las Vegas. Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his wife Anne Marie, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, Joe is survived by his daughters, Amy Houlihan and her husband, John of Lynn and Jill Fratangelo and her partner, Joe Comora of Peabody; his beloved grandchildren, Justin Sherman, Callie Sherman, Jack Houlihan and Declan Houlihan; his brother, Ernest Fratangelo Jr., and his wife Ellie of Peabody; sister-in-law, Pauline LaBonte and her husband, Ronald of Beverly; brothers-in-law, Robert Tondreau and his partner, Rochelle LeBlanc of Salem and Thomas Tondreau and his wife, Donna of Penacook, NH; and several nieces and nephews.
