Obituary

HAVERHILL – Mr. Joseph Brian Harlow 58, of Haverhill, formerly of Middleton, The beloved husband of Janice (Ware) Harlow, passed peacefully in their home with her at his side, February 23rd, 2024 after a valiant three year battle with cancer.

Born in Salem, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph H. and Barbara J. (Felton) Harlow. He was raised and educated in Middleton and graduated as a member of the class of 1983 from North Shore Regional Vocational Technical High School's Masonry program. While in high school, Joseph excelled on the athletic fields, starring as a member of the varsity Basketball and Baseball teams. Athletics played a tremendous role throughout his life, providing great confidence and camaraderie.

Joe was an employee of Bostik in Middleton as a lead reactor operator for 34 years. There he built an extraordinary bond with his co-workers. He was a mentor to everyone whom he worked with using his sense of humor, sarcasm and superior work ethic. The support of each other and years of friendship in and out of the workplace will forever be cherished.

Joe's family was truly the heart of who he was. He would often say "My children are my greatest achievement". His favorite times were spent with his son Tyler and daughter Haley, camping, fishing, grilling, watching sports or a favorite movie, also having a passion for cooking their favorite meals.

His athleticism carried throughout his life. He enjoyed playing softball, basketball and had an avid love for golf. He treasured his time spent on the course laughing and challenging friends.

Following a 50-year friendship, Joseph & Janice wed four years ago, celebrating with friends and family. In his words: "She is the love of my life and helped me be the best person I could be." He loved her immensely.

He received exceptional care and compassion from the staff at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston with special mention of Thelma & Chris.

Joe's legacy will forever live on in his children, family and friends. He will forever be loved.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Janice Harlow, his son, Tyler Harlow of Boxford, his daughter, Haley Harlow of Boxford, Jan's son, John Stanton and his wife, Caitlin of Kingston, NH, grandson Elliot, Jan's daughter, Katie and her husband Kosta Gioldasis of Salem, NH, Joe's siblings, Susan Fitzgerald and her husband, William of Port St. Lucie, Fl, Glenn Harlow and his wife, Diane of Peabody, Sandra Grant of Wakefield, Gary Harlow of Danvers, James Harlow and his wife, Christine of Conroe, TX, many nieces and nephews, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leslie Ware and his wife, Linda, Barry Ware and his wife, Arlene, Lisa Corso and her husband, Jim and David Ware and his wife, Laurie and his extended Bostik family and his many friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS, Friday, March 1st at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Visiting hours Thursday, Feb 29th from 4 to 7 P.M.
