Obituary

PEABODY - Mr. Joseph Nardelli, 85, of Peabody, beloved husband of Joanne (D'Amato) Nardelli, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary (Socci) Nardelli, he was raised and educated in Foxborough and was a graduate of Foxborough High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, Mr. Nardelli proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.

Following his discharge from the Air Force, Joe embarked on a long career in building management. He was the building manager in charge of Maintenance for several large companies in Boston, where he was well respected for his attention to detail, his strong work ethic, and his ability to deal with several ongoing projects simultaneously.

A dedicated family man, Joe's family was his true passion. He was a big influence in his children and grandchildren's lives. He led by example, love, generosity, respect, and his great sense of humor which endeared him to many. Every year he drove the family to Florida, all packed in one car singing as they went. He relished the time spent at his children and grandchildren's many events and was truly proud of their many accomplishments, never missing an opportunity to support the ones he loved most. He was devoted to his faith and was a communicant of St. Adelaide's church in Peabody for many years. Joanne and him enjoyed playing cards with family and was ever present at the Saturday night card games. Joe loved reading nonfiction, photography, and History, which came in handy while watching his favorite show, Jeopardy. Joe will be forever remembered in the hearts of his loved ones for his service to his country, love for his family and devotion to the church and deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving Joe in addition to his wife Joanne with whom he shared 53 years of marriage are his children daughters, Nicolette Zitano and her husband Peter of North Reading, Anna Varone of Peabody, Lisa Carter and her husband Wayne of Saugus, his sons, Mark Nardelli and his wife Donna of Dracut and Joseph Nardelli and his wife Elizabeth of Peabody, his grandchildren, Melanie Zitano, Peter Zitano, Tiana Rossi, Kaylee Page, Thomas Nardelli, Janina Varone, Jessica Carter, Victoria Carter, Addison Nardelli and Joseph Nardelli, and his great-granddaughter, Antoinette Rossi.
