Obituary

DANVERS – Mrs. Judith M. (Churchill) Johnson, 85 of Danvers and the loving wife of the late Walter A. Johnson, passed away on Sunday, February 16th, 2025 at Beverly Hospital with her devoted family by her side.

Born in Beverly, Judith was the daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy (Pennell) Churchill. She grew up in Middleton and attended Danvers Public Schools, graduating from Danvers High School. At age 16, she met a young Walter Johnson and the rest was history, together they celebrated 65 years of marriage and memories.

Judith devoted her professional career to customer service. Starting her career with the New England Telephone Company as a phone operator and later in life at Lechmere Sales where she devoted the remainder of her professional career working in various customer service positions until the time of its closure in 1997.

Always surrounded by family and friends, Judith was happiest when in the company of those who she cherished. She held deep and lifelong connections with family, friends and her walking group, always staying active by walking at the North Shore Mall, ushering at the North Shore Music Theater or playing cards with friends. She was an avid reader, loved a captivating movie and enjoying a nice dinner with family or friends. Her kind heart will live on in all the lives she touched, she will be deeply missed.

Judith is survived by her daughter, Lisa Johnson of Danvers and her son, Gary Johnson and his wife, Brenda of Danvers; grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, Lauren Johnson and her husband, Jacob Griem of FL and Jenevieve Johnson; and her sister, Bonnie Bemis and her husband Claude of ME. Judith was predeceased by her loving husband, Walter and her grandson, Jonathan Johnson.

ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of Judith's life will be held at a later date. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS.
