Obituary

DANVERS - Mrs. Judith M. (LaPointe) Standley, 92 of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Standley, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Orono, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Mildred (Perry) LaPointe. She was raised and educated in Maine and was a graduate of Orono High School.

Judy embarked on a long career with Hot Watt assembling heating elements which she did from her home while raising her family. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband and friends. She was a longtime volunteer at Hunt Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society and Catholic Daughters of America.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, family was the center of Judy's world. She relished the times spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was immensely proud of all of their accomplishments and when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, she was over the moon and couldn't wait to see each and every one of them. Judy cherished every opportunity she had to be with her family, traveling to visit siblings and extended family, or pulling family times together so she could be surrounded by those she loved. Her legacy of love, family first, and her undeniable zest for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed.

Surviving Judith are her daughters, Susan Legere and her husband Terry and Carol McCourt both of Danvers, her sons, Joseph L. Standley and his wife Nancy of Danvers and David Standley and his wife Alison of Nottingham, NH; her grandchildren: Joseph, Thomas, Eric, Keri, Kevin, Joshua, Taylor, Samantha, Kevin, Jessica, Devon and Shane; her 18 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Travis Standley and sister of the late Priscilla Baldwin, Dudley LaPointe, Suzanne Dearborn, Eleanor Yerkes, Betty LaPointe and Perry LaPointe.
