SALEM – Judith A. (Withrow) Pelosi, 81, of Salem, beloved wife of John Pelosi, Sr., passed away at her home in Salem, on January 25th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Harold B. and Mary (Breagy) Withrow. Judy was raised and educated in Salem and Peabody, attending Peabody High School. She devoted the early years of her life to raising her and John’s three children—Laura, Angelo, and John Jr. — a role in which she truly shined. A wonderful mother, she opened her home and her heart to all the neighborhood children, creating a warm and welcoming place for anyone who walked through her door.

Once her children were grown, Judy began a 25-year career as a custodian at Boston University, where she was known for her hard work and friendly spirit. She was a longtime parishioner of St. James Church in Salem, and in her later years she enjoyed the companionship and activities offered through the Salem Council on Aging and the Trask Center in Peabody.

In her younger years, Judy was an avid knitter and crocheter, crafting countless pillows, slippers, and afghans—one of which remains a cherished favorite of John’s. She was a wonderful cook, known for her humor, warmth, and the joy she brought to family life.

Despite the health challenges she faced in recent years, Judy’s strength, kindness, and love never wavered. She is now at peace and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John Pelosi, Sr., her children, Laura Parsons, Esq. of Magnolia, Angelo Pelosi and his wife, Gail of Methuen, and John Pelosi, Jr. and his wife, Maranda of Littleton, Colorado, her Godson, Paul Withrow, her siblings, Harold “Butch” Withrow, Jr. and his wife, Carole of Woburn, Jane Corneau of Pennsylvania, and Catherine Vasey of Montana, her grandchildren, Joshua E. Callahan, Ashley E. Doughtery and her husband, Michael, Jeremy M. Callahan, and Avery Pelosi, her great-grandchildren, Charlotte E. Doughtery, Matthew S. Doughtery, Nicholas M. Doughtery, and Viviana A. Doughtery, and many beloved nieces and nephews, especially her nieces Cheryl and Kathy Corneau, whose devoted care and love were a great comfort to her in her final days.
