BOXFORD - June E. (Brewer) Gilbert Peterson, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024 at Anna Jacques Hospital surrounded by her family.

June was the loving wife of Joseph F. Peterson of Boxford. Together they shared 18 memorable years and two fur babies, "Coco & Giselle". They enjoyed time on Sebago Lake and their yearly trips down south to escape the cold New England winters.

June was preceded by her beloved former husband of 48 years, Donald R. Gilbert of Boxford. Together they raised their three children and proudly built a business which later their children helped to run.

She is also predeceased by her oldest son, Richard D. Gilbert, her parents, Priscilla (Stickney) Noucher, Robert O. Brewer and her sister Audrey Barrett.

June is survived by her daughter, Leanne Berk and her husband Ed of Boxford, her son Robert Gilbert of Ft. Myers, FL.

June leaves behind six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Laurie) Berk, Kimberly (Gregory) Goldmacher, Ryan Gilbert, Keri June (Brian) Wilson, Keith Gilbert and Megan (Enric) Rosiu. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Lana June and Corwin Goldmacher, Eva June and Joseph Berk, Teagan and Chase Wilson.

June was the oldest of six children. She is survived by her siblings; Helena Femino, Roland (RuthAnn) Brewer, Phyllis (Frank) Brown, JoAnne (Donald) Famico and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

June leaves four step children, Greg Peterson, Sandy Peterson, Eric (Leslie) Peterson, Laura (Kevin) Dufford.  Four Step Grandchildren, Jeremy and Katie Peterson, Madelyn and Zachary Peterson.

June was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1953 and Burdett College.

June was the office manager for Surrette Battery in Salem and Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers. Until her retirement, June owned and operated R&D Engineering Services, Inc. and Chassis Engineering LLC in Rowley, MA.

June also served as President of the Rowley Chamber of Commerce for many years.

She was the proud matriarch of the Gilbert family. A kind and compassionate person, both a classy and beautifully put together lady. She commanded respect with her quiet but promising voice.  A loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. What a beautiful life she lived and a strong legacy she left behind.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte 62) DANVERS on Tuesday, October 29th from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with a graveside service to follow at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Boxford, MA at 12 (NOON).
