DANVERS - June L. (Carey) Hains, wife of the late George W. Hains, passed away April 12, 2026, at her home at Charter Senior Living in Danvers, MA at the age of 96.
June was born in Providence, RI and spent 94 of her years in Rhode Island before relocating to Massachusetts to be closer to family. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Yvonne (Doyon) Carey and graduated from Cranston High School in 1947.
Upon graduation, she worked as a bank teller at Industrial National Bank. After her marriage to George, she became a homemaker and lived in North Kingstown, RI. Her home was always a place of warmth and comfort for friends and family alike. Visitors to her home always knew to check the cookie jar for homemade treats.
June was fond of adventures — boating on Narragansett Bay, camping trips with her family, and going on road trips along the coast with her girlfriends. She loved animals and was a longstanding volunteer at the North Kingstown Animal Shelter, where her dedication earned her recognition.
Above all things, June will be remembered for her easygoing personality and her laughter. The joy that she brought to a room was contagious, and it will be missed.
In addition to her husband, June is predeceased by her late brothers Robert and Ronald. She is survived by her son Thomas and his wife Sarah of Swampscott, MA and her granddaughter Maia, who was truly her pride and joy.
ARRANGEMENTS: A private graveside service for June will be held at Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, 6365 Post Road, North Kingstown, RI. Assisting with the arrangements is O’Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM.
