PEABODY - Mrs. June (Micklay) Munro, 93 of Peabody, longtime resident of Topsfield, beloved wife of the late David Livingston Munro, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Susannah (Caines) Micklay. June was raised and educated in Watertown, was a graduate of Watertown High School, and continued her education at Fisher College. Upon her graduation, June worked as a secretary for the Federal Reserves in Boston.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, family was truly one of June's greatest joys. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, providing a warm, loving and entertaining home. She enjoyed playing games with her family and her beloved Tuesday night group at Brooksby.
A friend to everyone, June's heart was pure. She was truly concerned for the wellbeing of others, was an avid gardener, and loved cooking. She was a leader in the women's bible fellowship at the Topsfield Congregational Church and helped shepherd the Brooksby Bible study group. June loved her family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
June is survived by her daughters Donna Hunter (John) and Susan Sault (the late Stephen) and her son David E. Munro (Tammie). She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Timothy Hunter (Michelle), Allison Fisher (Dr. David), Jennifer Clark (Henry), Ryan Sault (Catherine), Jessica Sault (Timothy Hall), Tucker Munro (Kirstin Pesaresi), and Hunter Munro. She had nine great-grandchildren, Katie (Casey) and Ethan Fisher, Zachary and Emily Hall, Nathaniel and Benjamin Clark, Amos and Emmett Hunter, and Isla Sault. She is survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Micklay, brother-in-law Bradford Munro (Priscilla), nieces Linda Micklay, Pam Larson (Ken), and Blake Doyle (Scott), and many extended family members. She was the sister of the late Robert and Donald Micklay.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service for June will be held at the chapel of Brooksby Village at a later date. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers.
